CLICK – Short Film (Trailer)

At the end of a long day, five children look to fill the remaining hours of sunlight in an abandoned building. A location that leads them to discover why we are afraid of the dark. One of 4 films commissioned by Screen Yorkshire and UK Film Council under 2010’s Digi Shorts scheme, Click was filmed in one location over the course of 4 weekends. Using the location as a major character, the aim was to produce a genre film that uses classic horror motifs and atmosphere to lead the audience on a journey with the characters. Click will be screened at film festivals later in the year. www.click-film.co.uk

Tom Brookes – Oh My

Filmed over 2 days, this music promo was produced to accompany the debut EP by singer/songwriter, Tom Brookes. We filmed on Red One camera, using prime film lenses to add a more cinematic look to the finished project. Using a simple concept on 2 locations we aimed for a contemporary, gritty feel to the promo, while focussing on introducing Tom as a new, emerging talent.

Mason – Feature Teaser

Teaser trailer produced to raise interest in the feature film Mason, starring Paul McGann and Kelly le Brock. Currently in development, the feature is co-written and directed by William Prince. Co-written and Produced by Tim Francis. Using new footage and still photography combined with stock footage, we edited this trailer into an intriguing teaser for the film that has been used to gain development funding in the feature. The teaser is a great example of our post production skills and what can be achieved with imagination and technical knowledge, even on a limited budget.

Swedish for Beginners – Magical Machines

Commissioned by Coke Music, the promo accompanied Swedish for Beginners’ debut single. The concept was built around one setting that through in-camera trickery expanded into a different world that reflected the track. Shot in a studio over 2 days, the video has been a successful promotional tool for both the single and Swedish for Beginners’ debut album. “The direction is tight, both in terms of the actors and the performance delivered by the band, and the whole video hangs together really well, in no small part due to some strong editing. The director finds an ingenious device to expand his promo beyond the confines of the booth. It’s a really nice in camera touch that’s executed smoothly and integrated seamlessly into the performance. I’d love to see what he can do with more money and more time to explore other in camera and set-based trickery.” STEVEN WHELAN – SHOTS MAGAZINE

LOVEFiLM – Viral

A viral film produced as a marketing piece that would play for the post-Christmas promotional push. Using recognisable production techniques from charity campaigns, the viral is a lighthearted approach on the commercials that broadcast at this specific time of year.

It played in numerous major festivals and was nominated for several awards. “Tense and atmospheric. Using classic horror motifs without being clichéd, Blackout looks great and is compelling viewing.” BRADFORD INTERNATIONAL FILM FESTIVAL
